Worship

First Lutheran Church, Greensboro, NC

Be an "unsung hero" -- The extraordinarily faithful, giving folks who reliably run sound and video in our morning worship services keep technology supporting worship and enable us to send it out to shut-ins, friedns out of town, and potential visitors.  Several techs have worked 7 years straight, one doing double video duty with Shout for the last 4, and it's time to give a break to those who want it.  Please be in touch to learn more and help the team.  Men, women, youth all welcome.  Contact Andy Mitchum (286-5118,  doctormitchum@gmail.com) or talk to one of the guys Sunday morning.

WORSHIP:  SOME PRINCIPLES OF WORSHIP

Variety is used as a means of:

  • Enriching our lives and our faith
  • Meeting differing worship needs
  • Familiarizing people with our rich worship tradition

Hymnody and songs reflect our Lutheran emphasis on:

  • Congregational participation
  • A variety of styles and favorites among our membership
  • Our approach to the readings and the theme of the day.

Our concept of worship is:

  • A dynamic encounter between God and God's people
  • A participation in God's ongoing plan of salvation
  • A time when God brings gifts of forgiveness, faith, hope, love and community
  • A time when we offer ourselves to God in prayer, praise, discipleship and service
